A typical start to a day... :)))

What a great way to start the day, lol. First thing this morning, I heard my poor kitty, Cleo, getting beat up by the neighbourhood bully tomcat, so me and Liam raced outside... me in my housecoat...

After a few minutes of calling, Cleo came back, her fur all ruffed up but otherwise ok... and we turned to go back inside. BUT -- I had completely forgotten that last night, the door handle had broken off the screen door! And we were stuck outside... there was no way to get that door open!

Meanwhile, my 13-yr-old son and his friend were sleeping inside... or should I say, they were in comas! We banged and banged and banged on the door... and Zoe (such a smart doggie) even started barking. You'd think that would wake them up, but nooooo! My cell phone was in the car so I grabbed that and called them (I could hear my son's cell phone ringing loudly in his room... but even that didn't intrude on his sleep!). I think the whole neighbourhood heard us trying to wake those boys up before Jesse finally came stumbling to the door rubbing his eyes after about 15 minutes of banging and yelling and barking and phones ringing!

It was funny! Something similar happened to me outside a hotel room when I was on vacation one time -- that time was even funnier because I was outdoors, naked with just a small towel wrapped around me and a bath running inside that was almost full! (I had been talking to a girl who came to my door and I stepped outside to see where she was pointing at something, and the wind blew the door shut behind me!). She ran off to the front desk to try to get another key, and I stood outside trying to look 'normal' while people passed by staring! I got back into the room just as the bath had started to overflow onto the floor!

Anyway, I hope this start to my day wasn't the first of a case of things coming in threes!
