10月7日 Used printer cartridges? Got an old cell phone somewhere? This is a good idea for helping the food banks... never know when we might need one some day!THINK FOOD
Your used printer cartridge could feed a hungry child for a day. The "th INK FOOD" initiative is a national program that turns used printer cartridges into food for food banks across Canada. Used cartridges are collected and then sold for recycling, with a portion of the proceeds going back to local food banks. In Nova Scotia, the th INK FOOD project is administered by FEED NOVA SCOTIA. The proceeds from used printer cartridges donated are returned to our member agencies across the province based on the number of clients they serve. On average, each printer cartridge donated raises enough money for a jar of peanut butter or a carton of milk.
For more information or to register for the inkjet printer cartridge recycling and the th INK FOOD program, visit the website at www.think-food.com or call 1-888-271-3641.
You will have to call FEED NOVA SCOTIA at 457-1900 to start the laser recycling program.
There is also a "phones for food" program where you can recycle your old cell phone(s). The agency can receive $3-5 per phone. If you have an old cell phone that you are no longer using, call the Feed Nova Scotia number (or drop it off at the Dalhousie Psychology Department office and they'll make sure it gets to them).
